How Long Do Different Types of Dental Work Last?
When you invest in dental work, whether it’s a simple filling or a full set of dentures, you naturally want it to last as long
Dr. Nicole is a co-owner and dentist at Altoona Smiles. She grew up in Pleasant Hill, attending Southeast Polk High School and Iowa State University before heading to The University of Iowa College of Dentistry. She graduated from dental school in 2009 and headed back to the area with her husband Daniel. They have 2 children, Isabelle and Benjamin who attend school in the SEP district. As a family they enjoy going to their kid’s sporting events, golfing, and traveling together.
Dr. Nicole practices all areas of general dentistry, seeing patients from ages 1- 99! She particularly enjoys helping patients get out of pain, seeing children, straightening smiles with Invisalign, and helping patients achieve their best smiles with crowns, veneers or esthetics dentistry. Dr. Nicole is great at listening to her patients and helping them achieve their goals in a relaxed and comfortable environment. Call us today to make an appointment with Dr. Nicole!
Hello everyone! My name is Dr. Nicole Brummel, co-owner and dentist at Altoona Smiles. Thank you for taking time to learn more about myself and our practice.
After graduating from Southeast Polk High School in 2002, I attended Iowa State University for undergraduate studies. I am a graduate of The University of Iowa College of Dentistry class of 2009. While attending The University of Iowa I met my incredible husband, Daniel. We were married at St. John and Paul in Altoona in July of 2008, and now have two amazing children, Isabelle and Benjamin. Daniel and I enjoy spending our limited free time golfing and traveling. Our family loves being in the Des Moines area close to our family and friends.
As a dentist, my goal is to always help patients achieve a beautiful, healthy smile in a relaxed and caring environment. We believe an attractive smile is the best way to create a positive and lasting first impression.
Let us help you achieve your best smile today!

I had an excellent experience with Carlie as my hygienist. She was very thorough and diligent about ensuring that my teeth were very clean. She was also pleasant throughout my entire visit. I would highly recommend her.
